Report: Serie A club want Spurs player on loan but without paying a fee – Spurs Web
According to Corriere Dello Sport, AC Milan are looking to land Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga on a free loan this summer.
Tanganga suffered a season-ending knee injury in February which saw the 23-year-old make just 11 Premier League appearances for Spurs’ last campaign (Transfermarkt).
Those injury problems haven’t deterred Stefano Pioli’s men, who are keen to bring Tanganga to the San Siro in hopes of replicating Calciomercato’s Fikayo Tomori (Calciomercato) transfer success.
With Newcastle (Corriere Dello Sport) and Bournemouth (Daily Mail) also interested in securing a deal for Spurs’ academy product this summer, Milan could face stiff competition in order to land their man.
Calciomercato have previously reported that the Serie A champions intend to strike a permanent deal for Tanganga in this window.
Milan hope to negotiate a free loan with an option to buy the player, so they can save their funds for this summer.
However, they won’t get into a battle with Newcastle if it comes to that (Corriere Dello Sport).
Boosts web opinion
I think Japhet needs to challenge himself and push to be a regular starter in this coming season and if Milan is the place where he can do that then I’m behind the move.
However, I think it is imperative that Spurs ensure they have the player’s future under control next summer as he could become a fit player for regular Premier League football.
