Anthony Elanga ready for Championship loan with Man Utd keen to play first-team football every week

MANCHESTER UNITED is set to send Swedish starlet Anthony Elanga on loan for the Championship.

Elanga, 19, signed a new contract at Old Trafford after gaining attention, but now his bosses would like to see him in the ‘men’s game’ every week.

United have players ahead of Elanga at the moment, but have high hopes for the wide and fast man in the future.

His new contract keeps him at the club until 2026, so he has plenty of time for development.

Elanga has only appeared in six competitive games for the Red Devils, but scored against Wolves in the last game of last season.

And he made his Champions League debut in the draw with the Young Boys in early December.

Elanga has represented Sweden at youth level but has yet to make a full international appearance.

Meanwhile, midfielder James Garner is expected for contract talks. He’s on loan at Nottingham Forest but keen to find out where he stands in United’s plans.

The Reds will also decide where to send wide player Amad Diallo on loan. It is appreciated by several championships including the Derby of Wayne Rooney.

SunSport exclusively revealed this week that Ruben Neves is a major target for the Old Trafford club.

Man Utd have reportedly prepared a £ 35million offer for Neves but Wolves want at least £ 40million.
